Heart Game

You have the sensation of falling--no, drowning. Your lungs burn, you can’t breathe, you try to struggle but the current drags you down down down and just as you’re losing consciousness you know you’re dying...

You jerk, abruptly, the landing a little rough as you stand. Your clothes are dry and there’s no water in your lungs. You can breathe.

You find a bluetooth headset on your head, it crackles with static then goes silent.

[ Using this position and the katana to flip himself into a better, even more inescapable position for the reflection, and hold the sword to... his own face! Not the reflection's. ]

How'd you feel if I damaged these goods?

The reflection does go pretty still.

"You wouldn't."

Wouldn't I?

[ Geeeetting off his reflection slowly, holding the katana blunt edge up against his face! A wrong move and he'd have yet another big wound on his face. ]

The reflection hesitates then seems to decide you wouldn't really, lunging for you to grab your wrist.

[ Slashes himself along his face, as he tries to jump back and out of range of the reflection!! ]

THAT HURTS--but instead of your own face bleeding, your reflection does.

[ VICTORY!! ]

[ Even if it hurts, he was expecting it, so gritting his teeth and Being A Boss.　That probably means Kazuki can create distance, and knock over a desk in between us as he eyes that mirror and try getting closer to it. ]

Don't underestimate me!

You do create distance, but the double is trying to pursue you after a second of holding his face.

"I won't let you do any more!"

Oh yeah?

[ Throws a lamp down, then STABBING HIMSELF IN THE EYE. ]

[ This probably hurts a ton and he doubles over somewhat, choking from the pain, and he withdraws the sword ASAP too because SWORD IN EYE. ]

Yeah that. Yeah. It hurts exactly like stabbing yourself in the eye. Your reflection doubles over with a yell, bleeding profusely.

[ At least he's not actually wounded, and the pain is clearing a lot more easier for him than his double and all!! So... yes, taking this chance to go over to the mirror, and-- rather than touching it with the katana or his own hand, he struggles his shoe off, hopping, and toes the surface with that first. ]

While you do that toeing the mirror thing you notice you have no reflection. Speaking of that, your reflection tackles you into the mirror.

[ TACKLED um though it's really too bad I am holding a sharp object, because I'm sure just getting stabbed in my stomach from the tackle. ]

Then I guess you. End up back in the hall of mirrors. With your own corpse one top of you. '-'

[ I. GUESS SO. P-pushes his own corpse off him and sitting up, just gasping from all this pain, probably going into shock. ]

Yeah that really hurts like a gut wound even if you're fine.

[ Clutches his stomach with one hand, still holding onto the katana with his other. And struggles up into a standing position, pale and wobbling a litttle, feeling numb as he stares down at his corpse... ]

It's over.

[ ... maybe he should be horrified. But right now it's hard to feel anything... he just wants someone else there with him. ]

Anri? ... Mikado?

The katana is warm in your hand. But aside from the corpse and your countless reflections, you're alone. You have never actually felt more acutely alone and isolated. Even with "love" held in your hands it's as if there's no way you'll ever touch another living person again... No way anyone will see you...

[ I can't even tell who I am anymore, so. ]

[ Just clutches the katana in his hand tightly and keeps moving. No matter what, he has to keep moving. That's one thing he knows for sure, that won't drag him into misery. ]

[ It doesn't help he's pretty much covered in blood though, on his face... and on his clothes, from his reflection. ]

You're confronted with your own bloody visage wherever you turn. But you keep moving.

[ Wasn't I meant to do something with these mirrors...? It's hard to think. Just walk. ]

The katana is going cool in your fingers. You're tired. So tired. So tired you want to die.

Tired...

[ Rubs his face.... then slaps it, no, no sleeping is bad! Wanting to die... I guess is also bad, in this situation!! And what's up with the sword, that is concerning. Maybe he can't feel much about himself right now, but he can sure be concerned for people special OUTSIDE him. ]

Anri?

The sword feels heavy and cold. Your voice echoes oddly in this hall of mirrors. You don't know who you are or if you exist and you're really alone.

... Anri!?

[ I KNOW WHO SHE IS THOUGH, AND I KNOW THAT I NEED TO FIND HER, I DON'T CARE IF IT FEELS HOPELESS. ]
