More seriously. Blizzard is a bro. A lot like Kida, he's some stupid athletic guy who is also a brainy nerd and Shark doesn't know it but that pings all his BFF senses. Also Blizzard drapes all over him. More BFF pings. And he nearly dies on Shark too, also BFF pings. Shark might want to get less crazy BFFs?
But all on his own, Blizzard really relaxes Shark. He's a modern type kid, around Shark's age (a little younger not that they know) and over all... Blizzard's a cool guy? He's the kind of person Mikado would probably get along with anyway, and memory loss makes it easier, because memory loss makes Shark a bit less crazy and also more honest and generally less hesitant and constantly worried about how he comes across and such. So Shark's a bit more outgoing, and Blizzard is exactly the type of personality he can really relax around, because Blizzard is so straight forward and energetic and Shark doesn't worry about being sarcastic or whatever at him.
So that's the fun happy light fluffy feels. Blizzard is up there with Coral in Shark's important people, primarily due to the first couple days of CRAZY FUCKING DARKNESS and Blizzard nearly dying. Something about having a panic attack over a bro really makes Shark feel closer and more protective and likewise again, more relaxed with Blizzard.
It's a little funny, I'm not sure how to describe it, but Blizzard is just really important to Shark and it happened over just, what, two days or less? Then again Shark doesn't need to deeply get to know someone before he decides to bond to them, and that's definitely the case with Blizzard. Not that he doesn't want to get to know Blizzard more and be friends and talk about anything and have crazy adventures together, he does. He just didn't need a deep understanding of Blizzard to really deeply begin to care for him. And this is also partly because Blizzard is one of the early people Shark met, and kept meeting, so he's one of the most familiar faces Shark has, his own age, who kind of speaks his own language, and isn't a teammate.

So yes, Shark is a bro! He's a little quiet and low-key compared to Blizzard, but let's be honest-- it's hard to be on the same level of energy as Blizzard is. More importantly, Shark also is on the same wavelength! They're modern kids who know video games and stories and meta. Blizzard wants to look out for him, because he's still only been in Aather for a week himself and knows how so much can happen in a day, and to be honest Blizzard knows how sometimes a person can feel pretty alone in all of that. Maybe it's a bit of a shallow relationship so far...? But honestly, Blizzard doesn't need to deeply know or understand people. he just needs to trust that they're straight-forward with him and he believes Shark is.
ps. lolol brainy nerd no. Kazuki's just a nerd (who sometimes is good at puzzles.) No brainy involved.
THAT WAS SHORT I'M SORRY.
Anyway uh, how much does Shark really buy into the meta and stories?

And Shark is surprisingly honest and straight forward in general, except when he's not (duh) but he's pretty damn open with Blizzard.
ALRIGHT META AND STORIES
Shark isn't sure. Obviously the cliches and story tropes are important in this world, and he's seen some crazy as hell shit in his few days so it's not like he can just disbelieve any of it, and he doesn't want to anyway. Because it's exciting and cool and interesting and fun!
And he LIKES cliches. He likes stories. He likes that kind of thing, so being in one, as a "hero" really really appeals to him actually. He's got pride and vanity in a weird way that may not be immediately apparently, but being a "hero" appeals to both of those negative traits a lot, especially in the way he has them. So even if he isn't settled on the boundaries between reality and fiction in Aather, or if there are boundaries to begin with, the concept appeals to him. The idea of using meta knowledge to dictate a story's progression appeals to him a lot because, and this is part of Mikado's canon issues, it's kind of a power trip if he pulls it off. Like playing god with his own destiny and the "Storyline". It's exactly the kind of tool for steering the progression of things that would most excite Mikado and thus most interests Shark.
What about Blizzard? Any issues with being a story character?
I'M SORRY FOR TL;DR
When you add in the fact that his memories come from all sorts of hilarious POVs, and he got a memory recently which especially triggers his coping mechanism, he's just gotten more and more reliant on it as a way to live. And the thing about Kazuki is he... has some very unfortunate behavioral problems. Thankfully the most dangerous (sociopathic) one has forever taken care of by canon, but Kazuki still can very... easily... have a mentality not unlike an entitled stalker. (sob this is my best comparison right now if you've ever read the Denko 2ch story) By which I mean that he can ignore what he doesn't want to see/hear and justify whatever he does at a whim. It doesn't even need to be consistent justification, he basically justifies what he wants when he wants. This has led him to not... put a lot of weight on things in general, and has the potential for him to be rather ruthless.
It's really hard to snap him out of that mentality unless it competes against another thing he'd absolutely not want to lose and would have difficulty coping with. Such as, say, losing a very important person! So he can modify the mentality as he sees fit and is basically a very dynamic personality due to that. Blizzard is very influenced by his surroundings when he needs to be! And he does now, because he barely has any memories and needs a way to Deal With Things.
So if anything, the fact that he is using stories as a way to cope is his issues? Though he does have some cognitive dissonance with how he is really unsure with what exactly his role is meant to be and what he is meant to be doing. His character doesn't quite jive with the world, you know? He's not like Flynn Scifo who is a true proper knight. But going back to how Blizzard is a dynamic character, he's slowly finding his place! Hilariously by interacting with other people in the literal sense. The Jacobi game was fun because Snow acted like Blizzard when Blizzard is particularly grumpy, and he rejected that reality and decided to make his own! So he has worked on, even just unconsciously, being less grumpy and more amazing and now he's been told he's awesome and charming and energetic and he is like. Yes. Yes I am the Charming Knight, I am practically Prince Charming. And I am also Independent, I am not like my past self which is desperately attached to someone else. That is how his reality, his current story works! And it's really great for me because it calls back to his behavior in canon somewhat too, where he is capable of creating distance to people he might even like due to it, and it's even more exacerbated in Aather~ A big theme in his canon is also making Lies into Truth or making Fantasy into Reality and Yin into Yang and vice versa! So. :3ccc
I need to add as an aside that Kazuki also has a huge innate personality thing about stuff being interesting and not boring. So a lot of Shark's interest in being a hero is stuff that Kazuki also shares! He's... not quite as power hungry, I guess you could say, but he has a vested interest in playing the role of an awesome protagonist. Mostly a lot of his stuff is his mentality and coping mechanisms going insane tho.
What were you expecting vs what did you get in Aather!
Re: I'M SORRY FOR TL;DR
Well, I missed memory loss games a lot, which is why I apped at Aather. The last one I played at was when I was in Edensphere and I loved the whole concept. So some things I was expecting--the way characters differ from canon and how development and relationships affect and impact them and form more quickly. But it's also really cool to see the difference in setting from one game to another and how that affects things. Because it's definitely a whole different kind of game and I like it a lot!
For example I knew there were teams in Aather but I have any set expectations of them or what Mikado's team would be. But experiencing the team gameplay first hand has been amazing and I really love the concept. I adore stuff that sets up CR like that. And I love the teams for having a sort of atmosphere and thought in them and team personality.
I've also never played in a pure comment spam game before, though I've known for a while my preference is games without a network-style mechanic. So the commentspam is hard to keep up with a little, but also fun! And a different playstyle for me entirely. But the face-to-face interactions all the time makes me happy.
The games are also an awesome concept I enjoy a lot and very different from the memory gain mechanics I've played with before. But I enjoy the differences.
If not a knight, what team would you put Kazuki on, and why?
no subject
Also haha, I am the opposite with you re: RP-style since I have difficulty with networks. /T...TRIES HARD THOUGH!! Commentspam can be very hard to keep up with though, but I enjoy it because CR develops a whole lot more quicker. That it's commentspam also means you tend to keep the pulse on the person you're playing with, so it feels more personal I guess? But I have grown onto network-style and the tagging at your leisure too. =3=
Iiii thought about this, and while Turquoise would be a fun and fitting answer, and I think Kazuki would also suit Citrine or Sapphire. :|a
GIVE ME ICONS DESCRIBING SHARK'S FEELINGS FOR BLIZZARD GO GO.

I think I mistyped; I actually dislike network style. I often end up in it anyway, but face to face is a lot easier to play and keep interest in. Comment spam is new and I'm adjusting to it, but it's a lot of fun too! You're right it feels more personal and paced. Though I often twitch to add WORDWORDS in action brackets.
I WILL GET TO YOUR ICON RESPONSE but hey, why not. I am curious, so same icon question back!

And haha sometimes I feel ashamed at my inability to wordswords and try to make up for it... AND OKAY.
AND I WILL WAIT FOR YOUR ICON RESPONSE BEFORE I ASK ANOTHER QUESTION
