You have the sensation of falling--no, drowning. Your lungs burn, you can’t breathe, you try to struggle but the current drags you down down down and just as you’re losing consciousness you know you’re dying...

You jerk, abruptly, the landing a little rough as you stand. Your clothes are dry and there’s no water in your lungs. You can breathe.

You find a bluetooth headset on your head, it crackles with static then goes silent.

You wake up almost suffocating, you can’t move, you can barely breathe. The more you struggle the tighter your bindings, they’re sticky and strong--you’re in a cocoon of some sort? You can see the great strands of a massive spider web stretching over darkness. And the soft shifting of the web alerts you of a giant spider slowly approaching your position, alerted by your struggles.

. . . I wouldn't say that's entirely wrong. Sometimes, if something's too corrupted, you have to start again, right? But, I also don't really think razing everything to the ground without thinking about it is going to work, either. I think we'll have to do a little of both. Repairing where we can, and otherwise . . . well, we can't let an infection stay.
