Blizzard's kind of simple and open character so he doesn't really have any issues with being a story character at all! That's not to say he has a black and white mind set—because he doesn't! His mindset is very grey, and he is able to blur fantasy and reality together very easily for that reason. Part of it is natural, but it is also because when I first started out with Kazuki he only had knowledge on video games and a fairly flippant memory towards people and fighting and death, so that background kind of adds to this ability to blur things? Because when he came to Aather he coped by comparing it to a video game, and on top of that he got explicitly told that hey, this is reality-- and he acknowledge that! So now it is both reality and a story at the same time because he also got told this world very much runs on stories.
When you add in the fact that his memories come from all sorts of hilarious POVs, and he got a memory recently which especially triggers his coping mechanism, he's just gotten more and more reliant on it as a way to live. And the thing about Kazuki is he... has some very unfortunate behavioral problems. Thankfully the most dangerous (sociopathic) one has forever taken care of by canon, but Kazuki still can very... easily... have a mentality not unlike an entitled stalker. (sob this is my best comparison right now if you've ever read the Denko 2ch story) By which I mean that he can ignore what he doesn't want to see/hear and justify whatever he does at a whim. It doesn't even need to be consistent justification, he basically justifies what he wants when he wants. This has led him to not... put a lot of weight on things in general, and has the potential for him to be rather ruthless.
It's really hard to snap him out of that mentality unless it competes against another thing he'd absolutely not want to lose and would have difficulty coping with. Such as, say, losing a very important person! So he can modify the mentality as he sees fit and is basically a very dynamic personality due to that. Blizzard is very influenced by his surroundings when he needs to be! And he does now, because he barely has any memories and needs a way to Deal With Things.
So if anything, the fact that he is using stories as a way to cope is his issues? Though he does have some cognitive dissonance with how he is really unsure with what exactly his role is meant to be and what he is meant to be doing. His character doesn't quite jive with the world, you know? He's not like Flynn Scifo who is a true proper knight. But going back to how Blizzard is a dynamic character, he's slowly finding his place! Hilariously by interacting with other people in the literal sense. The Jacobi game was fun because Snow acted like Blizzard when Blizzard is particularly grumpy, and he rejected that reality and decided to make his own! So he has worked on, even just unconsciously, being less grumpy and more amazing and now he's been told he's awesome and charming and energetic and he is like. Yes. Yes I am the Charming Knight, I am practically Prince Charming. And I am also Independent, I am not like my past self which is desperately attached to someone else. That is how his reality, his current story works! And it's really great for me because it calls back to his behavior in canon somewhat too, where he is capable of creating distance to people he might even like due to it, and it's even more exacerbated in Aather~ A big theme in his canon is also making Lies into Truth or making Fantasy into Reality and Yin into Yang and vice versa! So. :3ccc
I need to add as an aside that Kazuki also has a huge innate personality thing about stuff being interesting and not boring. So a lot of Shark's interest in being a hero is stuff that Kazuki also shares! He's... not quite as power hungry, I guess you could say, but he has a vested interest in playing the role of an awesome protagonist. Mostly a lot of his stuff is his mentality and coping mechanisms going insane tho.
What were you expecting vs what did you get in Aather!
I'M SORRY FOR TL;DR
